HP Inc. said late Wednesday that Meg Whitman is stepping down as the chairwoman and a member of the computer company’s board, effective immediately. As a result, HP named Chip Bergh, chief executive of privately held Levi Strauss & Co., as board chairman. Shares of HP were unchanged at $19.26 after hours, following a 0.8% decline in the regular session. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. , which separated from HP in 2015, still lists Whitman as a board member.
