Barnes & Noble Education Inc. said Thursday that Michael Huseby has been named chief executive, effective September 19. He succeeds Max Roberts, who has announced his retirement, also effective on September 19. Huseby will also serve as board chairman. He’s been executive chairman of the board since 2015. Huseby has previously served as CEO of Barnes & Noble from January 2014 to August 2015. Barnes & Noble Education shares are up 1.8% in premarket trading, but down 32% for the year to date. The S&P 500 index is up 10.5% for 2017 so far.
