U.S. stocks opened with modest losses on Tuesday, with investors holding off from making big bets ahead of the results from the presidential election. The move also followed a massive equity gain on Monday, which was the S&P 500’s biggest one-day jump since March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average [S: DJIA] slipped 18 points, or 0.1%, to 18,242. The S&P 500 [S: SPX] lost 4.3 points, or 0.2%, to 2,127. The Nasdaq Composite Index [S: COMP] fell 10 points, or 0.2%, to 5,156.
