U.S. stocks open slightly lower after three days of gains

U.S. stocks on Friday opened slightly lower, taking a pause after three straight days of gains as investors cheered the Federal Reserve’s decision to leave interest rates unchanged earlier this week. On Friday, Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren said he had wanted to raise interest rates this week to help prolong the economic expansion. Meanwhile, a drop in oil prices also weighed on sentiment, ahead of next week’s much-anticipated meeting of major oil producers. The S&P 500 fell 4 points, or 0.2%, to 2,173. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 24 points, or 0.1%, to 18,370. And the Nasdaq Composite fell 12 points, or 0.2%, to 5,327.
