Social Security benefits unlikely to rise next year: report

Social Security recipients shouldn’t expect an increase in benefits next year, according to a published report Sunday. Falling gasoline prices over much of the last year mean the cost-of-living adjustment, set to be announced Thursday, will likely be zero, the Associated Press reported. The COLA adjustment affects payments to around 70 million Americans.
