Repossessed shopping center sold for $10M

The repossessed Marketplace at Hillsboro in Coconut Creek was sold for $10 million, resulting in a moderate loss for the lender.

A commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) trust using the name 4411 West Hillsboro Boulevard Holdings seized the 112,142-square-foot retail plaza and the 6,781-square-foot automotive building at 4301 and 4589 West Hillsboro Blvd. in 2014 after foreclosing on a $10.3 million mortgage. The borrower, Hillsboro-Lyons Investors, was an affiliate of Menin Development.
