Illumina cuts Q3 revenue estimates to $607 million

Illumina Inc. late Monday cut its third-quarter revenue estimates to $607 million, from a guidance of $625 million to $630 million, and said its fourth-quarter revenue will likely be flat or up only slightly from the third quarter. The San Diego, Calif.-based biotech company, which offers products and services for gene sequencing, said the revenue shortfall was caused by fewer-than-anticipated orders for its sequencing instruments. Illumina shares were halted in the late session after ending the regular trading day up 0.2%.
