Gold futures fall for the day, edge up for the week

Gold futures settled lower on Friday as investors searched the latest comments from Federal Reserve officials for clues on the timing of the central bank’s next interest-rate move. December gold lost $11, or 0.8%, to settle at $1,346.20 an ounce. The decline shrank the metal’s gain for the week to 0.2%.
