CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — Rod Blagojevich, the disgraced former Illinois governor, is likely to be re-sentenced after an appellate court threw out five of the 18 counts on which he was convicted in 2011, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report. The Chicago Democrat, who had served in Congress prior to his gubernatorial election, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after being convicted of a variety of corruption charges that included attempting to auction off the Senate seat of President Obama after Obama’s election to the presidency in 2008.
