The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 31.91 points, or 0.2%, at 18,034.84. The S&P 500 Index fell 1.25 points, or less than 0.1%, to close at 2,125.77, dragged down by a 1.2% decline in the energy sector as oil prices slipped. The Nasdaq Composite Index finished up 18.52 points, or 0.4%, at 5,173.77, as Apple shares rallied 3.6%.
