Local police confirmed the explosion was caused by a bomb that may have been hidden in a motorcycle. Reporters at the scene described a chaos, with body parts scattered everywhere in the area around the Erawan Shrine, which is popular with tourists as well as locals. The attack was also close to a five-star hotel in the Thai capital’s central Chidlom district.
