Data from Baker Hughes Friday revealed that the number of active U.S. rigs drilling for oil climbed by 4 to 529 rigs this week. That marks the tenth weekly climb in a row. The total active U.S. rig count, which includes oil and natural-gas rigs, also rose 7 to 665, according to Baker Hughes.
