Key Apple Inc. supplier Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd. has begun studying the possibility of moving iPhone production to the U.S., according to a report by Japan’s Nikkei Asian Review. The company was asked by Apple in June to study the possibility, the report said, citing “sources.” The concern is that President-elect Donald Trump may push Apple to to make a certain number of iPhone components in America. Apple’s stock slipped 0.4% in midday trade, while Taiwan-based Foxconn’s shares were unchanged in overnight trade. Apple’s stock has lost 1.4% since the election, while the SPDR Technology Select Sector ETF has eased 0.1% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average has gained 2.9%.
