Greece’s parliament backed Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’s bailout proposals in an early Saturday morning vote in Athens, news reports said. The vote will allow the Greek government to use the proposals as the basis for talks with its creditors in Brussels this weekend. Tsipras, in an about-face, on Thursday submitted proposals that were seen giving ground to lenders’ demands. Failure to reach an agreement this weekend would significantly raise the risk of a Greek default and potential exit from the eurozone.

After a tumultuous week, Ellen Pao resigned as interim chief executive of Internet discussion forum Reddit on Friday. Pao, who became the face of gender discrimination in Silicon Valley after suing venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, had been under fire from users of the site after a popular employee was fired last week. Reddit announced that Pao left “by mutual agreement” and would be replaced by co-founder and former CEO Steve Huffman.

Edwards Lifesciences Corp. said late Friday it will buy privately-held CardiAQ Valve Technologies Inc. for up to $400 million, including $350 million in cash at closing. The remainder will be paid after achieving a European regulatory milestone. The deal is expected to be dilutive to its 2015 earnings and Edwards will provide details when it releases second-quarter results on July 28. Ascena Retail Group Inc.’s stock dropped 6% in after-hours trade Friday, after the apparel retailer cut its full fiscal year profit outlook, citing lower-than-expected sales at its Justice and dressbarn branded stores. The company now expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of 57 cents to 60 cents for the year ending July, down from its previous guidance of 70 cents to 75 cents. Ascena, which agreed in May to buy Ann Inc. said it expects to take a charge of $275 million to $325 million in the fiscal fourth quarter related to its Lane Bryant stores. “While we expected a challenging quarter at Justice due to the sell-down of Spring/Summer merchandise coupled with a significant reduction in promotional activity, our revised fourth quarter expectation incorporates a more complete exit from the existing season’s merchandise mix,” said Chief Executive David Jaffe. “We did not see dressbarn sales rebound as expected coming out of the third quarter, and are disappointed with the performance of our tops assortment, specifically at higher price points.” Ascena’s stock had run up 13% over the past three months through Friday, while the S&P 500 had lost 1.2%.

I’ve been working hard at my summering this season, and if there’s one thing I need to round out my efforts it’s more naps. My bedroom is long overdue for a design refresh, so I’ve been perusing the HGTV Photo Library for some bedroom inspiration. Check out these swoon-worthy rooms.
Design by Weaver Design Group
Neutral bedrooms make for peaceful spots for rest, but neutral does not need to mean boring. Amy Weaver used highly textural neutral features, such as grasscloth wallpaper, bamboo roman shades and patterned fabrics to add visual interest in this master bedroom while keeping the colors soft.
I love the way this room by Eisner Design embraces elements of nature. The wood paneling in the bed niche speaks to the beautiful view of trees through the windows. The windows are equipped with custom-fit coverings to block out the light when it’s time for rest.
Master bedroom or luxury hotel suite? J&J Design Group achieve the look of luxury with well-tailored design features, such as the upholstered wall detail, nailhead trim on the bed and armchairs and crisp, white bed linens. The faux fur throw adds a cozy, homey touch.
Small spaces can be serene too. Claire Paquin kept the design minimal, using the artwork and slatted wall feature to add interest without taking up space. A slatted wall feature placed in front of a window can block out unpleasant views while letting peaceful light filter into the room.
Design by Debbie Perez
This bedroom designed by Debbie Perez is another great example of how to use texture to keep neutral colors from feeling too boring. Perez also brings in plenty of natural elements, including a large piece of driftwood that just might inspire you to “drift” off to sleep.
What details would you include in your dream bedroom?
