6 Essentials for the Perfect Tailgate Party + Win the 1 Thing You Really Need

By Farima Alavi

As a Vols fan, one of my all-time favorite phrases is “It’s Football Time in Tennessee!” I know most of you aren’t Vols fan — don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you. One thing I think we can all agree on as football fans is the amazing spirit that comes with tailgate parties. It doesn’t matter what team you root for or even if you’re complete strangers, tailgating brings a sort of comradery you don’t get with any other social gathering. Whether you’re new to this long-time tradition or if you’re a seasoned tailgate master, we’re sharing our must-have items and recipes to make your tailgate the best on the lot. Plus, enter for a chance to win the biggest tailgate party essential: A grill, of course!

Tailgate Party Guide

1. Eat This. These nacho-stuffed potato skins are the ultimate football snack…errr…meal. They’re easy to eat with one hand so your other hand is free to hold a beverage, put on some tunes or to fist pump your fellow fans. Get the recipe here>>

2. Grill On This. Aside from the potato skins, grill tailgate essentials like hot dogs, burgers and chicken for your friends and family. The George Foreman camp and tailgate grill is portable, easy to use and grills to perfection.

3. Listen With This. Don’t forget the tunes. Create a party playlist on your phone, and bring a bluetooth speaker to connect to your phone for unlimited listening (and dancing).

4. Drink This. Sure, beer is the go-to beverage for tailgating, but what about the football fans who aren’t fans of the heavy, filling drink? Offer something lighter like a classic mint julep. Get the recipe here>>

5. Play This. In the South and other parts of the US, playing cornhole is a staple for tailgating. You can buy boards at your local sporting goods store, or make your own with our easy step-by-step instructions.

6. Relax In This. For the ultimate way to relax, sit in a Sport-Brella recliner chair. This chair takes folding camping chair to the next level. It features an insulated zip-up pouch — which fits up to 4 beer cans — and includes a bottle opener, a foot rest, an adjustable umbrella and three different reclining adjustments.

We are giving away a George Foreman tailgate grill to one lucky winner. For a chance to win, tell us your favorite tailgate tradition in the comments section below. Check back at the end of this week to see if you’re the winner!

You may only comment once to be considered, and you don’t have to purchase anything to win; a purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Odds depend on total number of entries. Void where prohibited by law. Only open to legal residents of 50 U.S., D.C. or Puerto Rico, …read more
