German transport minister Alexander Dobrindt is to travel to Washington, D.C., on Monday to discuss the Volkswagen AG emissions scandal with his U.S. counterpart Anthony Foxx, media reports said on Friday. Dobrindt is also set to meet with officials from the Environmental Protection Agency, which is probing the German automaker over alleged manipulation of emissions test for diesel cars. Volkswagen is also subject to a Justice Department investigation in the U.S. into any criminal misconduct. Volkswagen admitted last month to rigging emissions tests on some diesel cars in the U.S. and Europe and is preparing to recall up to 11 million vehicles.
